Training Overview

Direct Service Provider training is a five-day training that covers the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. It is an intensive hybrid training experience consisting of two days of online training modules and competency checks and three days of interactive lecture and hands-on training with a child with ASD in clinic. This training meets the State of Kansas training requirements for the Intensive Individual Support Provider (IIS) and is based on the RBT task list.

What Topics will be Covered?

Topics include: Introduction to autism and behavioral treatment, measuring and recording data, principles of behavior, stimulus control conducting teaching sessions teaching social-communication skills with typical peers, determining the function of behavior, decreasing behaviors using consequences, team meetings and wrap around services.

Training Overview

The Direct Service Worker (DSW) training is a five-day training that covers the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based practice when working with individuals in the home and community setting. It is an intensive hybrid training experience consisting of two days of online training modules and competency checks and three days of interactive lecture.

What Topics will be Covered?

Topics include: Evidence-based practices, three/four term contingency, defining and observing behavior, collecting and graphing data, preference assessments and preferred consequences, differential reinforcement, shaping, token boards, situational influence, teaching a new skill, chaining, choice making, specific teaching methods, decreasing rates of behavior, functional assessments and behavior intervention plans, and ethics.

Training Overview

Online informational tutorials that cover the general understanding and knowledge of evidence-based behavioral strategies to provide early intervention services to children with ASD and other developmental disabilities. There are 10 Modules with a pre-and post-test. This training meets the State of Kansas training requirements for Respite and Parent Support Providers.

Training Overview

This is a two-day training that combines the foundations of Applied Behavior Analysis with introductory material needed to serve as a behavioral consultant or case provider. The training will cover behavioral function of behavior, function-based treatment, behavior intervention plans, criterion referenced assessments, peer networks, program development, and ethics. This training meets the State of Kansas training requirements for Consultative Clinical and Therapeutic Services (CCTS).

Who Should Attend?

Those seeking to become a behavioral consultant, case provider, or Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).

Training Overview

Trainees with ABA experience will learn to implement a structured parent training curriculum with the families they serve. Trainees will gain experience using online training and delivering feedback to mock families. During this 3-day live virtual training, trainees will have the opportunity to meet the requirements to become an OASIS Parent Training Coach. 

Who Should Attend?

Service providers with ABA experience who are looking to provide families with a structured parent training curriculum. 
 

Training will Address the Following Objectives:

  • Objective 1 – to train providers to accurately score and interpret data specific to OASIS Parent Training Program to fidelity
  • Objective 2 – to train providers to provide effective feedback to parents of children with autism based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and the guidelines outlined in the OASIS Parent Training Program
  • Objective 3 – to train providers to deliver OASIS Parent Training to increase the skills of parents of young children with autism and other developmental disabilities and to increase their ability to teach socially appropriate behavior in home and community settings

Training Overview

OASIS Trainer Training will provide service providers with the certification to independently train clinicians in delivering the parent training curriculum. During training, trainees will facilitate a 3-half day Coach training in the presence of Global Trainers to assist if needed. Throughout training, attendees will learn how to recruit, coordinate, and facilitate OASIS Coach Training. Trainees will have the opportunity to meet the requirements to become a Certified OASIS Trainer. 

Who Should Attend?

Certified OASIS Coaches who have completed parent training with a minimum of two families and are interested in learning how to facilitate and guide trainees in their journey to become an OASIS Coach.

What Should I Expect?

To become a Trainer, trainees will be required to:

  1. Review and complete all pre-training requirements on the training website (~10 hours)
  2. Participate in training preparation calls with Global Trainers (~4 hours)
  3. Conduct a Coach Training in partnership with the Global Trainers (~14 hours)
  4. Meet fidelity in all aspects of training

Following the completion of training, certified trainers will be able to coordinate and conduct their own, independent Coach Trainings.

Cost of training: Free. 

The development of this training is currently funded by a generous grant from the National Institute for Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research.
